[POETS LAMENT] A THERESSE BYNUM AND HAMZAH FARUQ COLLAB
THE MUSIC...

H
Poets scribble emotionally as the tides of humanity ebb and flow.
Standing under street lights and in hallways as bulbs flicker.
Poets stand on stages and carry the rage of nations... carress love on a mic.
Poets abuse the alphabet in expressions of freedom from societies consraints.
Poets are misunderstood, mistreated, and just plain damn disrespected.
Poets cry too.

 T
Poets snap nerves like peas
Bend wills like knees
Reawaken the nations
Free the week from suffocation
Take shit like port-a-potty
Then cut it short like starch
Poets are like leeches
seeping into you skin
Drawing out sin
Bleeding the infermity
...Till no more
Poets save lives

H
Poets sit in prisons and eat starvation diets.
Poets whisper words to babies born on cold days.
Wind of freezing air and frozen water molecules.
Poets led marches on Washington and whole nations to war.
Poets scribe from ill advised ways of life.
Poets die in solitude...the interlude.
Poets cry too.
