[BLACK LIFE]

[BLACK LIFE]
THE MUSIC FOR THIS ONE... DO LISTEN...
http://youtu.be/Ir4vtUr_YuI

Bout a day ago it was the 60's and my people were involved in the struggle... fighting the powers.
Back when a Panther was protection against the police and Malcolm said by any means necessary... speaking with machine gun precision.
A black mans life made him the victim... born in a strange land of unequality.
Bout a day ago it was the 70's and Malcolm was in the cold hard ground and black power was in the air... Fists pumped in the air testifying to our time here.
Afros, bellbottoms and daishikies... Jim Brown didnt take no shit and Jim Kelly was kickin ass at the drive in right up there on the screen... blaxploitation made gangsters seem cool.

Fat Albert took us to school... Roosevelt Franklin and Richard Pryor on Sesame Street.
Kunte Kinte became Toby at the end of a whip... Fiddler pleaded for his life.
A black mans life grew a little more complicated as he searched for his roots.
Bout a day ago it was the 80's and Cosby had perfect kids... They didn't come round the way.
Afrika Bambaata and the Zulu Nation evolved into medallions... the red, the black and the green emblazened on M.T.V. damn near villified on B.E.T.
Silly depictions of a once great people as they danced for Micky Dees... a commercial situation made to order.

A black mans life took on new meaning as crack was introduced to the people... a new thug nation.
Bout a day ago it was the 90's and a new day had dawned where the elders were no longer respected cause the youth had seen just a little to much... dicks getting sucked in allyways and such.
The drug dealer had become the new corner store and black businesses became a rarity... Asian behind the counter tryin to be what he thought was cool.
Gold tooth grins and visions of Scarface... Gangsta ambitions of taking over the neighborhood while the world moved on.
Courtrooms where lives were takin in the midst of drug wars that continue to this day.
Black life... Black life.
All this black life.
