CITY SCENE
[CITY SCENE]
THE MUSIC FOR THIS ONE... PLEASE LISTEN AS YOU READ...

As the night fell the city began to change.
Different players but the same game...
Survival.
Voices ringing into the surreal feeling scene.
Tracers of light from the passing vehicles.
People on the way to wherever they were going.
Laughter and music.
He stands on the corner taking it all in.
Wondering at the futility of it all.
She steps from the faces of the people passing by.
So refreshing that she sweeps over him like a cool breeze.
Invigorating and sweet.
She speaks to him and he speaks back.
Hi there.
Have you eaten?
No.
She tells him to come on and they enter the fast food joint.
She hands him the money and tells him to order the meal.
She doesn't want him to be embarrassed.
He orders and they head to a table in the corner and wait.
He excuses himself and goes to wash his hands.
He comes back and hears the order called and picks up the food he walks back to where she is.
She smiles and he wonders if this is the rest of his life.
This moment, this feeling.
They sit and talk and eat and she laughs not at him but with him.
Afterwards they walk and talk and he tells her of his dreams, his wants, his desires.
She overstands and takes his hand and the night becomes the break of day which finds them in each others arms standing in awe.
He walks her home and they part ways with promises of tomorrow.
He saved in the dawn of her recognition.
