In the vehicles the agents talk to Kano and try to discern what he is thinking.
They make small talk and try to see how intelligent he really is and Kano conversates with them casually, his mother though is another matter entirely.
She grills them unmercifully and they soon see that she is far more formidable than they had thought by her display in the projects.
Her english at times is impeccable.
She is well read.
They also see that there is a special bond between her and her son.
Finally she says "Lets cut through the bullshit.
What's going on here and what does my son have to do with it?"
The agent who is with Rucker looks back and says "My name is Fuller and I am a scientist employed by the government.
My field of expertise is ancient cultures and languages.
You asked about the spaceships when we picked you up.
This is entirely about them and you.

Kano's mother nods her head.
You are a very special person ma'am.

They reach a dirt path and turn onto it and drive for awhile before coming to a deserted looking farmhouse.
They pull up and all of a sudden soldiers appear.
Just as suddenly a small space ship decloaks and lands.
The soldiers draw their weapons and fall into defensive postures.
A voice sounds from the ship.
Kano translates it.
"That would be futile."
He hears Rucker say "Stand down."
The spaceship lands and Kano, the agents and his family step from the vehicle as it lands.
The doors open and as the occupants step from the vehicle Kano and his family gasp.
They are black.
