Red is writing in his log when there is a knock on the door and The Spook enters.
Red has wondered from time to time how he got that name but it really does not matter. What really matters is his ability to fuck with electronics... to get things up and running.
"Whats up?" he says as The Spook enters the room.
The Spook answers "Oh nothin...just trying to get this power back on. Winter is right around the corner and there are still babies being born ...people who are going to need heat. as a matter of fact I am going to need the reports from some of the other cities so that I can find out how they are doing and give them pointers and get pointers from them. we are running from about two power plants but givin the size of this citie we will need more to run the things that we will need in the winter."
Red looks at him and is glad that he chose this man for this job. He is the reason that they have power in this city.
"Spook we are sending messengers all over and we are receiving reports...here are some of them right now" he says as he hands a stack of papers to him.
"I am going to need you for something else. we are aquiring a lot of equipment from the other side and we need some teams to work on the equipment. To maintain it and keep it running."
"Red I was thinking about that and I have some people in place if you want to meet them and give your okay."
Red looks at him and says "Spook I trust our judgement. Just make sure you submit daily reports directly to me."
"I got you Red."
"Thank you Spook."
"No Red...thank you for the opportunity to be something more than I was before this all went down. I am glad that I am doing something for the movement."
"We are grateful for you too Spook."
"Allright Red let me get back to work."
The Spook turns to leave the room when all of a sudden there is a pounding knock on the door and the person bursts into the room.
"This better be very damn important." Red says as he looks at the brother who stands in the doorway. His name is james and he is wearing enough artillary on his person to take out a small country. he is Breathing hard and it takes a second before he gets his breath.
"Red" he says between breaths...Red you aint gonna believe it but two F 22 Raptors and a Harrier just landed at the airstrip and they say they wanna join the movement. They say that there are more who want to join the movement. Pilots and shit."
As the man waits for a reply Red reaches for his Desert Eagle and says "Lets go."
"Spook plans done changed I'm gonna need you on this right now.
The three men leave the room and make their way to the lobby where most of the council already waits. As he comes in they all beg to go but he chooses only two of them. The rest are dissapointed but they know that he is only doing what he must. All of them were chosen for their commitment to the movement and if all of them are ambushed or die so will the movement and there is no telling what will happen to the people.
As they walk out of the building and make their way to the convoy Red thinks about the fact that the movement is growing past any of his expectations. A large part of it is the fact that so many people are ot willing to kill innocents and family members. That is why so many soldiers have defected to the movement. There are still people who feel more loyal to the government but that is to be expected. This war is very similar to the civil war in a whole lot of aspects.
The convoy procceds to move out and Red pays attention to all that he sees. The people who walk the streets as if it is still a sunny day in old Babylon and thinks back to his childhood.
