Aspirations of love had come and gone in the dreamers life from time to time. Yet the dreamer feared love. Even so his fear did not come from a fear of the emotion, but what it would do to any woman who desired to spend her life with him. For the dream was who he was at this point.

He had seen people who had sought the key lost by the wayside, babbling shells of who they once were. Spouting bits of truth laced with mad ravings. For the knowledge of the key and what the key was was so simple that many had gone mad at the realization that it had been so simple.

In a way the dream was a sort of middle ground between sanity and insanity, reality and madness. The dreamer had once had a family and what was thought of as the normal life until the dream had consumed him and made him try to explain it to a woman who was not ready to ascend. So many live lives that are dictated by systems of religiosity and the worship of earthly baubles. Whole societys are eradicated for the love of land and false pride. Manifest destiny as men think that god has given them the answer to every other mans way of life. The right to control other men.

Yet the dreamer sometimes gave thought to finding the woman who would be able to resist the darkness when it dangled a piece of the pie in front of her eyes. For love to him was support, it was overstanding, it was trust. At times he wondered what it would feel like, how he would react. For the fear was strong in him. Sometimes a man can be so strong in so many ways and weak in others.

Love was his weakness and for that reason he had avoided it. Why bring anyone into this world where darkness was such a formidable enemy. Where there was no more peace in sleep than in awakening. The dreamer had first felt the dream as a child and had started to discover his powers as a pre-adolescent. By the time he was a teenager he had grown adept at hiding who he was, He had learned that there were people in the world who looked for people like him and were commited to eradicating them mentally. The only way that they wanted you to know was if you remained under their control. Darkness.

Why would any woman want the danger of loving the dreamer?

The sharing of a life so full of the dream?

And the dreamer continued to walk the dream.
